Design
The neck bracket is the upper "hinge" of the lock gate. Since the 1960s, the ships on the Eemskanaal have become larger and larger. Therefore, the new neck brackets have also become considerably more robust and resistant to the forces released in case of collision by the largest ships.
The new neck braces consist of two parts; the foundation seat and the pivot seat. The foundation chair is attached to the concrete lock wall. The pivot chair holds the door in place.
